Tom Zera has been a bassist with the Utah Symphony since 1999. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Hartt School of Music, and a master’s degree from Juilliard. Prior to his arrival in Utah, he was a member of the Buffalo Philharmonic and New World Symphony. He has participated in many festivals, including the Kinhaven Summer Chamber Music Festival where he served on the faculty for two years. He occasionally substitutes with the Minnesota Orchestra in concerts and recordings, and he appears regularly with the NOVA and Intermezzo Chamber Music Series in Salt Lake City. When not hard at work playing the bass, Tom is generally basking somewhere in the great Utah outdoors—hiking, fishing, or skiing.
