Multi-Sport Adventure | August 15-18*, 2016

Hike, rock climb, raft, explore, return to camp, and repeat. The southern slope of the Uinta Mountains is home to Dinosaur National Monument, Split Mountain, and the Green River. This trip will explore them all from a basecamp inside the monument. Participants will be "car camping" in a central location for the duration of the trip. Rock climbing will accommodate all levels - no experience necessary! Whitewater rafting will be through Split Mountain Canyon in Dinosaur National Monument. Cost: $390 - includes transportation, equipment, food, and instruction. Multi-Sport Equipment List

Utah Sampler | August 15-18*, 2016

Canyons, creeks, and mountains, oh my! This trip gives you almost everything Utah has to offer. Participants will be "car camping" and hiking throughout some of the most beautiful areas of southern Utah.  This includes areas like Captiol Reef National Park, and the Hell's Backbone area. Capitol Reef National Park is filled with geological, cultural, and picturesque views and known for its beautiful tree-lined creeks and narrow slickrock canyons. The Hells Backbone area has everything from deserts to mountains and provides views down into the near by canyons, cut by the Escalante river, an oasis in the desert. This area allows visitors to hike through areas of pre-historic rock art, sandstone cliffs, and waterfalls such as Calf Creek falls. Packrafting Expedition | August 15-19, 2016

Backpack and paddle all in one unique expedition-style trip. Packrafts are small inflatable 1-person boats weighing in at just under 5lbs and they allow for some spectacular wilderness travel. On this trip, participants are likely to backpack 5-8 miles on hiking days and paddle 10-15 miles on paddling days. Participants should be prepared for some strenuous hiking, paddling, and camping above 8,000ft, carrying backpacks weighing ~40lbs, alpine & desert environments, and stunning scenery. Westminster was the first college in the lower 48 states to start a packrafting program!

Alpine Backpacking | August 15-19, 2016

Trek through the beautiful alpine terrain of the Uinta Mountains. The Uintas are home to the highest terrain in Utah, including King's Peak which stands at 13,527ft. The Uintas offer ample opportunities to see wildlife, try your hand flyfishing, and spend time above treeline. Participants are likely to backpack 5-10 miles per day and occasionally experience significant elevation gains. Participants should also be prepared to carry a backpack weighing ~35lbs and hike & camp at altitudes above 8,000ft. Cost: $390 - includes transportation, equipment, food, and instruction. Backpacking Equipment List
