Westminster Creates Position to Focus on Salt Lake and Sugar House Community Outreach
Annalisa Steggell has been appointed Westminster’s new Director of Community Relations
SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster College has been an important influence in the Sugar House community for almost 100 years. Over the past 25 years, the college has significantly enhanced its financial resources, invested in new campus facilities and grown its undergraduate and graduate enrollment.
As the college continues to increase in size as well as prestige, so does the need to develop and maintain close relations with the community. For this reason, Westminster has created a new position dedicated to solidifying relationships with the surrounding campus neighborhood.
Effective today, Annalisa Steggell will become Westminster’s new Director of Community Relations, reporting to President Michael Bassis. In her new role, Steggell will represent the college to community, civic and business representatives, and function as a liaison and a catalyst to enhance Westminster’s community relationships and emphasize the college’s commitment to community involvement.
Steggell, class of 1992, will maintain her role as liaison to the college’s Board of Trustees and as board secretary, and will continue to serve on the senior administrative team. She has previously filled many roles at Westminster, including chairing the Alumni Board, serving as the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations and Special Assistant to the President, and teaching as an adjunct professor.
“Our students, faculty and staff are already very involved in the Sugar House and Salt Lake communities,” said Steggell. “I now have the good fortune of sharing our Westminster stories and working to create new connections between the campus and our neighbors.”
