Westminster Announces New Director of Campus Patrol
SALT LAKE CITY– Westminster recently announced the appointment of Drew Long as the college’s new director of campus patrol.
In his new position, Long will be responsible for the protection, safety and security of the college community. He will oversee enforcement of campus security in the areas of emergency dispatch, parking facilities and traffic regulation enforcement. Additionally, he will liaison with area law enforcement and public safety agencies that are responsible for law enforcement and emergency response on the campus.
Long has had an extensive career in law enforcement and security, and has worked his way up the ranks in the City of South Salt Lake Police Department for 22 years, culminating in the position of Chief of Police. After retiring from the police force in 2002, Long became the Chief of Guard at the Tooele Army Depot and Dugway Proving Grounds where he directed the security operations for both facilities.
