Westminster College Receives Internet Advertising AwardFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SALT LAKE CITY - Westminster College has been awarded the "Best Education Rich Media Online Campaign" award by the Web Marketing Association. The college's website was re-launched last December and features campaign pieces that emphasize one or more of the institution's key messages: a unique learning environment, a commitment to student success, and a supportive community of learners. The campaign pieces are displayed in a random rotation on the main page. Each campaign piece includes a combination of animated graphics, text, audio, and video to support a "show and tell" approach to reaching prospective students. Recent and current features include the college's Environmental Studies Program, May Term, Cultural Events, the Winter at Westminster program, the Undergraduate Research Fair, and more. Each campaign links to additional multimedia content aimed at providing visitors with a sense of the Westminster experience and helping improve communication with the community. The Web Marketing Association is an organization founded in Boston to set high standards for Internet marketing and corporate web development. The Internet Advertising Competition is an annual event that judges corporate websites against an Internet standard, as well as against other websites within their industry. The competition is now in its seventh year. Westminster College President Michael Bassis praised the college's information technology department when the award was announced, "We are very pleased the Web Marketing Association has recognized the creativity and innovation our technology staff brings to our website. They strive to create a website which accurately reflects the Westminster experience for prospective students and parents who visit us online." |
