SALT LAKE CITY - This year, Westminster’s popular summer scholarship fundraiser will feature a celebration of classic motorcycles through the years. The “Wheels at Westminster” event will be held on the evening of Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 6:30 p.m.
In addition to great food, music by the Salamanders and a live auction, “Wheels at Westminster” will give participants the first chance to tour a classic motorcycle exhibit featuring over 50 motorcycles from the past to the present including Harley Davidson, Norton, Moto Guzzi, Yamaha, Indian, BMW, Ducati and Triumph. Tickets for the event are $100 per person and can be purchased by calling (801) 832-2770.
Following the dinner, the exhibit will remain open to the public for a week-long classic motorcycle exhibition which will begin on Sunday, August 6 and run through Saturday, August 12 in the Dolores Doré Eccles Health, Wellness and Athletic Center. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children and seniors. There will also be daily film screenings of the motorcycle classic “The World’s Fastest Indian” in the Gore School of Business Auditorium at 3:00.
Proceeds from the event and week-long exhibit will help fund student scholarships at Westminster. More than 80 percent of Westminster students receive scholarships which help them finance their educational goals. The money raised at “Wheels at Westminster” will help deserving students who wish to attend Westminster.
