Westminster College Hires New Dean of the School of Education

Westminster College has selected Dr. Robert Shaw as the new Dean of the School of Education. Dr. Shaw will help the School of Education navigate the many challenges and opportunities teacher education will face in the years to come, such as the increased multi-culturalism of our community. Shaw will continue development of new graduate programs, such as the college’s new MAT program.

Dr. Shaw is currently the Executive Associate Dean of the College at Brown University. He also teaches graduate and undergraduate course in educational psychology and human development at Brown. His extensive experience as a senior administrator and a faculty member makes him a valuable resource for Westminster and the School of Education.

Dr. Shaw received both his PhD and M.A. in Educational Psychology from the University of Chicago. He earned his A.B. in Psychology from Occidental College.
