LeBlanc Named Head Coach

FORMER GRIFFIN TO LEAD NEW PROGRAM

Westminster College Athletic Director Shay Wyatt announced Tony LeBlanc has been named the
new women's soccer coach. LeBlanc will lead the Griffins into their first season of
intercollegiate play this fall. This coming fall the women's soccer program will compete as
a member of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) and the Frontier
Conference.

LeBlanc is a Westminster alumni, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in International
Business in 2005. While a student-athlete at Westminster LeBlanc played for the men's
soccer program for four years under Chris Dorich, being named a two-time academic
All-American and serving as a team captain his senior year.

As a player, LeBlanc was a two-time member of the Utah State Select team and a three-year
varsity letterman at East High School. He was a part of the first Utah Select team to
capture the Western Regional’s and ultimately finished 3rd at the 2005 State Select
National Championships.

LeBlanc's coaching experience varies from the collegiate, high school and youth levels; he
has been the boys Varsity Assistant/JV Head Coach at East High School the past two seasons
as East has played in the state finals the past two years and captured the State
Championship in 2006 for the first time in school history. During the 2006 season, LeBlanc
served as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at BYU-Hawaii where he was instrumental in forming
and organizing a first year NCAA Division II women's soccer program that finished second in
the Pac West Conference with a 12-4 record. LeBlanc also has coached club soccer for the
girls Rush 93 premier soccer team and currently holds a D license.

LeBlanc understands the challenges of starting a new program, "Starting up any college
program is a tough and demanding process," state LeBlanc. "It requires discipline,
motivation, and cohesiveness that ultimately will set a foundation for years to come. It is
my expectation that these three attributes will be acknowledged and lived before any type
of success is to be achieved. More importantly, soccer at the collegiate level is much more
than just playing competitively; it is about a proper balance between athletics and
academics."

"I believe Coach LeBlanc will be a very good addition to our women's soccer program. In
addition, to being a Westminster alumnus, Tony shares the vision we have for our athletic
program and has the drive and commitment to reach the goals we have set forth for our
women's soccer program both academically and athletically," stated Shay Wyatt, Director of
Athletics.

Having played for current Men's Head Coach Dorich, LeBlanc has seen first hand how to run a
successful program, "Coach Dorich has instilled a certain mind set in each one of his
players, derived from a relentless work ethic and quick play on and off the ball that has
made the program the success it is today. This is a valuable concept that I will look to
implement into the women’s program as well. I have seen first hand how much growth each
player experiences because of Coach Dorich’s approach to the game and can personally attest
that it works. I will continue to learn from his knowledge and experience as I have for
many years now, in order to help develop and shape the women’s program."
