Attention Wireless Users
Have you or your roommates noticed weak or lagging service?
Has the wireless dropped you while browsing the internet?
We can no longer allow students to use wireless routers anymore because they compete for bandwidth with the new secured wireless. This is why you may have noticed weak signals and dropped service while using the secured wireless network. All personal wireless routers MUST be turned off in Residence Halls. This will improve the wireless network for everyone. If you need help or have questions concerning the wireless system please contact Computer Support, 801.832.2023.
Residence Hall Networking
Welcome to the ResNet website! Students who live in Westminster's residence halls are provided with a connection to the Internet. Students simply connect their network cable from their personal computer to one of the ports in each residence hall room, then register their connection online. Through the Internet, students can access campus resources such as their Westminster email, network drives, or printers in the residence halls.
Westminster College employs several Residence Networking (ResNet) technicians that ensure that the network port in your room is functioning. They also maintain the labs and printers located in the residence halls.
Please note: ResNet technicians cannot install or repair hardware in your computer and cannot troubleshoot non-supported software or corrupted operating systems.
Contact a ResNet Technician
If you wish to contact a ResNet technician, please call 801.832.2023. An email will be submitted to the appropriate ResNet technician who will contact you within 48 hours.
