A Message from President Bassis
This special issue of the Westminster College Review is dedicated to the strategic plan, offering insights into how it was constructed, how it was shaped by many voices, and how its implementation is beginning to unfold. The strategic plan was developed through a collaborative process that spanned 15 months.
The goals outlines below and further detailed in this issue will now guide the direction of the college for the foreseeable future. The overview of the plan presented here is the beginning of a dialogue. We will continue to update you periodically on our implementation progress and invite your ongoing feedback.
Our Plan: An Overview
We will be nationally recognized as an exemplary community of learners, distinguished by our distinctive academic programs, our record of preparing graduates for success in a rapidly changing world, and our commitment to continuous improvement, effectiveness, and value. We will focus our efforts, inside and outside the classroom, on helping students achieve college-wide learning goals--learning exemplified by all "Graduates of Westminster College."
Our programs will be distinctive in their emphasis on theory and practice and on active, experiential, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary learning.
We will continue to integrate the liberal arts and professional education in a learning-centered environment which is both challenging and supportive.
Our strategic plan identifies the specific goals, strategies, and initiatives the college will pursue over the next ten years in its ongoing commitment to excellence and distinction.
