Indoor Environmental Quality
"Indoor Environmental Quality" is the fifth of the six categories in the LEED® checklist. This category includes increased ventilation, daylight and views, thermal comfort, and low-emitting materials.
- There is no smoking in, or within 25 feet of the building - as by Westminster College's standards.
- An outdoor air sensor is lcoated at the air intake for the building. CO2 sensors have been installed in every densely occupied space to ensure adequate ventilation without excessive energy use.
- All of the ductwork was covered, and then cleaned when it was installed, and during the building construction.
- Multiple levels of lighting are in the building. For example, photocell sensors signal lights to dim or turn off when there is ample daylight available.
