Involvement on Campus

Student Involvement & Leadership

Campus life at Westminster College is comprised of more than just going to class and spending time in the library studying. We believe that the growth and learning that you do outside of the classroom is just as integral as your academics.

Westminster students are encouraged to try new things, meet new people, and get involved with campus and community activities. Just a few ways in which students have been able to get plugged into campus include:

Making Friends at First Year Student Orientation

Attend Campus Events.
Whether it is a student government sponsored activity, a concert or play, or an academic lecture, you will have the opportunity to interact with faculty, staff and fellow students.

Join or Start a Student Club.
Clubs and organizations are always a great way to get involved in campus life. Academic honorary, common interest, service, sport, and religious organizations are available for students to join. If you are interested in starting a club that isn’t currently on the roster, we can help you start it from the ground up.

Get Active. Climbing Wall in the Eccles Health, Wellness and Athletic Center
Join an intramural sports team, attend a Westminster Griffin sporting event, take a group fitness class, or just spend time at the Health, Wellness and Athletic Center working out with friends. Anyway that you choose, you’ll be healthier and more connected.

Be a Leader.
The opportunity to hold a leadership position in student government, a club or organization or captain an intramural sport team is more attainable at Westminster than a lot of other colleges. You can also work on your leadership skills through the Westminster College chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Griffin Leadership Academy or the Annual Day of Leadership in the spring.  2009 Day of Leadership

Experience Salt Lake.
If you're venturing off-campus, Salt Lake offers plenty of cultural and social events. Within an hour from campus, students can enjoy nine downhill ski resorts, six cross-country ski parks, and plenty of open wilderness to snowshoe, hike, and camp.
