Requesting Academic Applications

The IS Department needs to know what academic applications professors will be using in courses each semester. If a faculty member plans on using any academic applications listed below please fill out this form.

  • Adobe Dreamweaver: a web development application

  • Adobe Illustrator: a creative art vector graphics editor

  • Adobe InDesign: used to create works such as posters, flyers, brochures, magazines and books.

  • Adobe Photoshop: commercial bitmap and image manipulation software

  • Crystal Ball: spreadsheet-based application suite for predictive modeling, forecasting, simulation, and optimization

  • Dr. Java: a Java IDE designed primarily for students and beginners in Java

  • Eclipse: a multi-language software development environment comprising an IDE and an extensible plug-in system

  • Eview: instructional use in the areas of econometric analysis, forecasting, and statistics

  • FAA test Prep: preparation for to take FAA test

  • FactSet: enhances the productivity of the global investment professional by providing superior workflow solutions

  • GRE Prep: test Preparation materials for the computer-based and paper-based GRE Test

  • Inspiration: develops and publishes visual learning and thinking software for educators, students and business professionals.

  • Maple: general-purpose algebra system, users can enter mathematics in traditional mathematical notation

  • MatLab: allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages

  • Mathmatica: computational software program used in scientific, engineering, and mathematical fields and other areas of technical computing

  • MicroSim Inhospital: designed for real life nursing situations with patients

  • Odyssey: enterprise class mobile and embedded dive manager

  • Python: programming language that lets you work more quickly and integrate your systems more effectively

  • Sketchpad: dynamic construction, demonstration, and exploration tool that adds a powerful dimension to the study of mathematics

  • Spartan: provides a full range of post-Hartree-Fock methods including Density Functional, Moller Plesset, Theremochemistry recipes, and an assortment of Advanced Correlated approaches

  • SPSS: computer program used for statistical analysis

  • Textpad: text editor for the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems

  • TOC: Goldratt's Theory of Constraints applied to Software Development

  • Turning Point: is a response system that integrates into PowerPoint and allows students to participate in presentations or lectures by submitting responses to interactive questions using ResponseCard’s or other computer devices

If you complete this form the IS Department will get the academic applications installed ensuring the application is ready to be used on the first day of classes. Please note all classroom computers are pre-installed with GroupWise, Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, and Internet Explorer/FireFox.

Requesting New Versions of College Owned Software Form

The IS department realizes that software companies update or release new versions throughout the academic year. If a faculty member would like to use a new version of software the college already owns they are asked to fill out this form. After the form is completed, the IS department will need about three weeks to evaluate the software. After the evaluation period the faculty member will be contacted with a deployment plan.  

Requesting New Academic Focused Software Form

The IS department understands that faculty members are continually looking at how they can improve student learning in their courses by using new software. If a faculty member would like to request new software they will be asked to fill out this form. After the form is completed, the IS department will need about three weeks to evaluate the software. After the evaluation period the faculty member will be contacted with a deployment plan.
