Early Giving is Two Easy!
Don Miguel de Cervantes said that “he who gives early gives twice.” Members of Westminster’s Employee Giving Committee (EGC) add to that, saying, “those who give to the college through payroll deduction find it an easy way to make a difference for students.” Sign up today, early in the fiscal year, for payroll deduction!
Eleven Westminster employees compose the Employee Giving Committee: Gail Avendaño, Richard Badenhausen, Bob Brinkman, Darlene Dilley, Charlie Ehin, Hikmet Loe, Winter Morse, Wayne Riedthaler, Alan Rogers, Traci Siriprathane, and Shay Wyatt. They provide their ideas and enthusiasm for this important initiative by guiding and and implementing annual giving campaigns and encouraging employee giving at events like the Health and Benefits Fair.
Currently, employee giving to the college is about 45% with a record number of 231 employee donors who contributed almost $150,000 to Westminster students last year. “While we are incredibly appreciative of this support, we would like to see that number grow, as many peer institutions have upwards of 75% participation from their faculty and staff,” said Steve Morgan, Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
Gifts of any amount, through one-time gifts or payroll deduction, can be directed to student scholarships, the Student Hardship Fund, specific departments or programs, or to the area of your passion. Buying a Westminster license plate also counts as an employee gift to the college. You can name Westminster as a beneficiary and become a member of the Converse Society by simply submitting a life insurance change form with the Human Resources Office.
