Outstanding Response to Holiday Giving Effort
Help for Westminster students from the Griffin Student Assistance Fund (formerly the Student Hardship Fund) can often mean the difference for a student continuing his or her academic experience. The college’s ability to help those students facing financial challenges was strengthened considerably this holiday season. Thirty-eight Westminster faculty and staff gave a total of $7,850 in gifts and pledges to this particular fund between November 1 and December 31, 2013! Now, the Office of Financial Aid can help more students than ever before. Thank you!
This is just one small example of the great support Westminster employees provide our school. Last year, a record number of 231 employees (45 percent) made a gift to the college, contributing almost $150,000 to Westminster students. “We are incredibly appreciative of this support,” said Steve Morgan, vice president for Advancement. “as it shows other potential donors how much Westminster employees love the college and its students.”
We still have a way to go to match or exceed last year’s record support. With the school year half over, we need 120 more employee donors to pledge their support. We invite you to join with us now.
