Student Teaching Mrs. Shepard and Students

The teacher education programs in the School of Education take a practical, multifaceted, student-centered approach to preparing teachers. Content knowledge and pedagogy are developed to prepare teacher education students for teaching all learners.

Student teaching consists of 10-12 weeks (a full semester) of teaching during which the student teacher assumes full responsibility for the students and the classroom in an assigned placement. An additional placement for Special education endorsement requires 6 weeks in a special education classroom setting.
