NCUR 2013 (National Conference on Undergraduate Research)

On April 11, 12 and 13, 2013, The University of Wisconsin La Crosse will be hosting NCUR (the National Conference on Undergraduate Research). This national conference attracts several thousand undergraduate students who present their research to an audience of peers and faculty mentors.

The Provost's office at Westminster College has funds for a limited number of Westmintser students to attend. In order to be considered for funding, interested students must fill out the application, get faculty mentor signatures, and return it to Room 105 of the Bassis Center by October 26, 2012.  Applicants are encouraged to visit the NCUR website for conference information.

Students first submit an application and abstract for consideration to Tim Dolan, 105 Bassis Center, or email to (tdolan@westminstercollege.edu) and also submit an application and abstract to NCUR. Abstracts must be written by the students, not the faculty mentors. Successful applicants will be notified and will be awarded travel funds pending acceptance of their abstract by NCUR. Once successful applicants are notified they will then submit their abstracts to NCUR for consideration. Both the application abstract format and the NCUR format are identical.

All currently enrolled students are eligible to apply. Students must have worked with a Westminster College faculty or staff member who served as a mentor to the project. Undergraduate research projects that include teams of students within or across disciplines are encouraged to apply however due to limited funds only one member of a team can be supported through the Provost’s Office.
