Business program that helps women celebrates class, seeks another

Westminster College in Salt Lake City is accepting applications for the 2012-2013 GE Capital Banking on Women class designed to help women entrepreneurs start their own businesses. On Wednesday, the college conducted a ceremony in the Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business Auditorium for graduates of the 15-week course that started in the fall of 2011. The next class begins in the fall of 2012. GE Banking on Women, supported by GE Capital and hosted by the Institute for New Enterprise at Westminster, was launched in Salt Lake City in 2010 and focuses on business development, while providing mentorship and financial advice. Participants in this year's graduating class created small businesses such as a gluten-free bakery, law office and a mobile wood-fired pizza company.
