G.I. Jobs, a popular resource for military personnel, listed four Utah institutions in the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students.

Westminster College, along with Utah Valley University, Weber State University and Utah State University, were noted for being "military-friendly," providing additional benefits to student veterans such as on-campus programs, credit for service, military-spouse programs and more. The list was compiled through extensive research that started last May and included G.I. Jobs polling more than 7,000 schools nationwide.

The selected Utah schools showed promise for veterans by signing on to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program, a provision to the Post-9/11 GI Bill. Under the new program, the Department of Veterans Affairs works with the schools to cover the total cost of tuition and fees for eligible veterans who meet the colleges' admissions standards.

G.I. Jobs, a publication that is available online, not only surveys military-friendly schools, it also lists military-friendly businesses and veteran-owned businesses, to assist military veterans and their families.
