SUU soccer: Keeper earns weekly honor

Southern Utah goalkeeper Breana Fitzgerald was named the Summit League Defensive Player of the Week following the freshman's first collegiate win against Utah Valley on Saturday in SUU's 2-1 victory.

Fitzgerald allowed the UVU goal early as a 40-yard direct kick sailed into the back of the net in the 13th minute. The Layton native had six saves on a total of 21 Utah Valley shots during the remaining 77 minutes.

Southern Utah will be back in action this week with home games Wednesday and Sunday afternoon with Westminster College and Murray State, respectively.
