UGF teams meet Carroll

The University of Great Falls basketball teams close out the regular-season portion of their schedules with games tonight at Carroll College and Friday and Rocky Mountain College.

Both the Lady Argos (1-11, 7-20) and the Argos (2-10, 8-20) are unlikely to change their playoff status this weekend. Coach Shawn Chaffin's Lady Argos will finish last in the eight-team league and will have to travel to champion Westminster (13-0) next week for the first round of the playoffs.

Coach Steve Silsby's Argos can't finish higher than seventh, and will play next week at the league's No. 2 finisher. That likely will be MSU-Northern (9-3), Carroll (8-4) or Rocky Mountain (8-4). Those three schools are chasing Westminster (10-3) for the title.

Northern plays at Rocky tonight, and is in Helena Saturday to face Carroll. Westminster can clinch the outright title with a win at Lewis-Clark State on Saturday.
