Even with the recession, the United States is still the wealthiest country in the world. But most of the world lives on about $2 a day. Since Monday 10 students at Westminster College have been learning about that first hand. They’re living in tents in the Tanner Plaza trying to exist on just $2 a day. Their given an appreciation for those who have to do all the time.
TRACY HANSFORD: I’m not sure how they’re so strong because I’m really struggling just to spend the night outside in my tent. And to do it every night and not be able go inside even for class, which is what we’re doing, would be extremely hard. I think about food all the time.
The students are also raising money to build a school in Sudan. The $2 challenge will end tomorrow afternoon.
