Westminster Signs Five to Play Volleyball

Five women have signed letters of intent to play volleyball for Westminster College next season, including Sandy's Megan Evans and Ashley Marchant.

The 5-foot-6 Evans is a setter who was named to the Class 3-A All-State first team after leading Juan Diego High School to its best season in school history last season -- the Soaring Eagle finished fifth at state -- while the 5-9 Marchant was an honorable mention Class 5-A All-State outside hitter for Alta.

The Griffins also signed outside hitter Stephanie Jones of Issaquah High School in Washington, and two transfers: middle blocker Talita Ramos Kresser of Oral Roberts University and Salt Lake Community College and setter Jessica Schmidt of Walsh University.
