Westminster College and Save Our Canyons have teamed up to revive the popular Wasatch Front Forum series. The series is designed to bring together a multitude of voices surrounding controversial environmental issues facing our community. Panels are moderated and broadcast by KRCL radio.

WHY:   Create an open community discussion about challenging environmental topics.

 

• Tuesday September 22nd 2009 7:30-9:00pm:
Action Now…Student Environmental leadership on College Campuses along the Wasatch Front

Join student leaders from various college campuses across the Salt Lake Valley to discuss the topic of environmental leadership. How do these student leaders plan on championing environmental issues at their academic institutions?

• Tuesday November 17th 2009 7:30- 9:00pm:
Master Plan for the Wasatch Canyons

Learn how the policies which will form the basis of a revision of the 1989 Salt Lake County Wasatch Canyons Master Plan for City Creek, Emigration, Red Butte, Parley’s, Millcreek, Big Cottonwood, and Little Cottonwood Canyons will affect the environmental integrity of the Canyons. The Master Plan is the basis for the County’s land use planning policies and ordinances. Come and learn how this changing policy will affect your community.


• Tuesday January 26th 2010 7:30 – 9:00PM:
Global Warming and Climate Change

How will Global Warming and Climate Change be a nuisance along the Wasatch Front in the years to come? What change is facing our ski communities with warmer climate and rapid snowmelt? Learn how all of these critical changes will be issues and challenges facing Utah in the near future.

Population Control and Distribution how this effects our environment along the Wasatch Front
