Citing and Using Sources

Different areas of study favor particular ways of citing sources. Your teachers will likely indicate which style of source citation they would like you to use. If they don't, ask!

Chicago Manual of Style (CMS): cites sources in footnotes and includes a final bibliography

Modern Language Association (MLA): cites sources by author and page and includes a final Works Cited list (2009 Update!)

American Psychological Association (APA): cites sources by author and date and includes a final References list

American Medical Association (AMA): cites sources in order by superscript number and includes a final References list.
