Presidential Search

Process

The president of Westminster College is appointed by the Board of Trustees. The President Search Committee, which comprises representatives from across campus, will screen and interview candidates before making an official recommendation to the board.

Presidential Search Update

Dear faculty and staff,

This week, the Westminster College President Search Committee met with the four finalists we identified last month. The search committee was joined by additional representatives from our campus stakeholder groups (staff, faculty, students, and alums). In addition, a group of trustees, assisted by several cabinet members, met the four finalists separately. Following each interview, we captured feedback from everyone participating.

We had a robust discussion about the qualifications and experience of each finalist and will send a recommendation to the full Board of Trustees shortly for their consideration. Isaacson Miller also conducted thorough background and reference checks on our finalists. The search process has been rigorous and insightful, and we plan to announce the results of the Board of Trustees vote within the next few weeks. We remain enthusiastic and hopeful, and appreciate the patience of campus during this process.

Salt Lake City

With a metro area population of 1.2 million, Salt Lake is a small city with a lot going on: a long tradition of performing arts, an innovative food scene that builds upon a heritage of small family farms, and a booming tech industry for which Salt Lake was dubbed the “Silicon Slopes.”

Utah

Utah is home to some of the best outdoor recreation in the country. Westminster’s campus is just four hours from five national parks: Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Arches, and Canyonlands. The Sundance Film Festival takes place in Park City every year. And Utah has the Best Economy in the Nation (WalletHub, 2016).
