The provost is the chief academic officer at Westminster and oversees the academic integrity of the university. Reporting directly to the provost are the 4 academic deans that support the Honors College, Westminster College of Arts & Sciences, School of Education, Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business, and School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The provost also oversees academic administration, the registrar's office, global education, retention and student success, the co-curricular learning centers, and the McNair Scholars' program. The provost works closely with these individuals and departments to provide the highest possible quality of educational programs—both in and out of the classroom. A crucial part of the provost's role is ensuring that the university recruits, retains, and supports an outstanding and diverse faculty.

The provost serves as the chief executive officer in the absence of the president and helps lead the university's strategic plan based on 3 key initiatives: institutional sustainability, building a community of learners, and innovating to support student success.
