Meet Our Undergraduate Admissions Staff
Darlene Dilley, Director of Admissions
B.A., University of Utah
Darlene is originally from Magna, Utah. She is a University of Utah alumna and received her Master of Education from Westminster. She loves working in higher education and enjoys being in Admissions because it's, "where the journey begins." Her favorite place on campus is Emigration Creek. During Darlene's spare time, she likes to stay active—hanging out with her two children, golfing, playing racquetball, rafting and going on road trips. She also enjoys relaxing with a good movie and music. Her favorite local destination is Goblin Valley and food from Bombay House.
Alexandra Steed, Assistant Director of Admissions
B.S., University of Utah
Alex is from Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from the University of Utah with a double major, earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies as well as a B.S. in Mass Communication. She enjoys working in higher education for many reasons but working with transfer students and helping them with their transition to Westminster College is her favorite part. Alex enjoys spending time with her family more than anything. She also enjoys traveling and loves the New York Jets. She is learning how to cook as of recent, but enjoys going out and trying new restaurants. Her favorite restaurants in Salt Lake are Eva and Takashi.
David Robles, First Year Admissions Counselor
B.S., Weber State University
David is from Salt Lake City, Utah. He is a Weber State University alumni and plans on earning a graduate degree from Westminster College. He is passionate about working as an Admissions Counselor because he loves to inspire students in any way possible. One of the greatest things he likes about working with students is the personal relationships. He believes that every student has the power to succeed as long as they have a support system. On his spare time, he likes to whitewater kayak, mountain bike, hike, camp, trail run, and do anything outdoors. He also loves soccer, which is why he attends every Real Salt Lake match during the season. His favorite place on campus is the HWAC (gym) and restaurant is Tres Hombres Mexican Grill & Cantina
Derby Ruspoli, Admissions Front Office Assistant
B. A. International Studies minor in Italian and Creative Writing, University of Utah
Derby Ruspoli grew up in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah earning a bachelor’s degree in International Studies with an emphasis in European Studies and minors in Italian and Creative Writing. She also attended the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy for a year-long study abroad focused on International Studies. She spent three years in Italy learning about the culture and teaching English. During that time she traveled to over 20 countries playing competitive soccer. Derby plans on starting her graduate degree at Westminster in the Spring semester for the Master’s of Arts in Community Leadership. In her spare time she enjoys gardening, hiking with her dogs, riding motorcycles and being outdoors.
Donna Z. Campbell, Admissions Operations
Bachelor of Business Administration, Westminster College
Donna is originally from Murray, Utah and enjoyed growing up near our fabulous mountains and Canyonlands areas. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Phoenix. Working in Admissions Operations at Westminster has been very rewarding. She really enjoys the positive atmosphere at Westminster and helping the counselors in the recruiting process. My favorite place on campus is the Commons area. I love walking through this area in the mornings and enjoying the fragrant flowers of spring. Outside of work she spends lots of time with her children and grandchildren as well as the two dogs that fill her life. And anyone who knows her will agree that golf and football games (college and pro) are other favorite pastimes. Her favorite local eating places are Sweet Tomatoes and Iggy’s.
Eric Johnson, Admissions Operations
B.A., St. Olaf College
Eric is originally from Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in Economics. His favorite place to go in the area is up in the Cottonwoods to escape the heat. In his spare time, Eric enjoys reading, watching movies, snowboarding, photography, and playing beach volleyball.
Kelly Jerome, Assistant Director of Admissions
B.S., Northern Arizona University
Kelly was born and graduated High School in Utah, but between that time had the opportunity to move to a few different states including California, Texas, and Arizona. She graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Marketing, and returned to Salt Lake City to be closer to her family and take advantage of the mountains. A strong believer in higher education, Kelly loves working in admissions because it is something she is passionate about. She shares as much excitement about starting college as her students do, and enjoys helping them through the admissions process. Her favorite place on campus is the bridge overlooking Emigration Creek because it is beautiful no matter the time of year. In her spare time, Kelly likes to ski at Solitude and Park City, attend live music shows at Urban Lounge, and travel. Her favorite restaurants in town, although they change often, areSapa Sushi and Tony Caputo's Deli.
Kristie Spellen, Assistant Director for Events & Campus Visits
B.S., Canisius College
Kristie is born and raised in Upstate NY. She graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and completed a 3-1 Fashion Merchandising Management Associate's Degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She earned her Master's Degree in Sport Administration from Canisius College as well. Kristie has only been in Utah (Salt Lake City) for a year and a half, but has enjoyed the various outdoor activities Utah has to offer. Her favorite part about being on the Admissions team is being able to coordinate events both on and off campus for prospective students, and helping high school students envision themselves as future college students here. She enjoys working out, traveling and spending time with friends & family. Her favorite restaurants in Salt Lake are Bombara and Takashi.
Leanna Kowallis, Associate Director of Admissions
B.A., Brigham Young University
Leanna grew up in Provo, UT and decided to stay close to home for college. She earned her Bachelors degree in English at Brigham Young University. Shortly after, she traveled to Washington, D.C. where she earned her Master of Arts in International Affairs from George Washington University. Her favorite part of working for the admissions office is meeting so many great students on a daily basis. Her favorite spot on campus is the new Commons Area. In her spare time, Leanna enjoys cooking, playing tennis and volleyball, running, rock climbing, reading and traveling the globe.
Manny Villalobos, Assistant Director of Admissions
B.S. Westminster College
Born and raised in Utah, Manny graduated from Westminster in 2002. As an aviation admission counselor, he lives to fly. He enjoys taking prospective students out flying—seeing the look on their face, and all their fears, hopes and dreams coming out. The most rewarding part of his job is giving students a skill they'll take with them forever. His favorite campus location is the Aviation Simulation & Testing Center. Aside from flying, Manny enjoys fishing, camping and playing basketball. The mountains are his favorite land location, because it's an escape from the everyday norm. While in the air, he says it's hard to pinpoint a favorite spot because it's all so beautiful from above. As a self-proclaimed health nut, his favorite restaurants are Kneaders and Whole Foods. He also loves taking wheat grass shots.
Maren Lythgoe, Director of Admissions Operations
Maren Lythgoe grew up in West Jordan, Utah, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy. Working in higher education is her passion, especially as it relates to technology and making processes less cumbersome for applicants. She loves Westminster’s beautiful campus (especially the bridge over Emigration Creek) and exceptional learning environment, where students have names and stories; they aren’t just a number. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family at Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon, or just at home with a movie. She also won’t complain about a girl’s night out at her favorite restaurant, The Dodo, right down the street from Westminster.
Mary Rendon, Transfer Admissions Counselor
B.S. Westminster College
Mary is originally from Burbank, California. She moved to Utah her sophomore year of high school and fell in love with Salt Lake City. She graduated from Westminster College with a degree in Political Science in 2013. Her favorite part about working with students is getting to help them through the sometimes overwhelming application process that she had to go through as an undergraduate. Her favorite place on campus is the Center for Civic Engagement in the Bassis Center for Student Learning. She enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, baking, and spending time with her husband and her dog. Her favorite places to eat in Salt Lake City are Tsunami and Oasis Café.
Meredith Nickels, Assistant Director of Admissions Operations
Meredith is from Lake Bluff, IL and moved to Utah to attend Westminster College. After graduating, Meredith stayed to help other students attend Westminster College, which has been her home for the last seven years. Her favorite place on campus is the library, where she has so many fond memories. She enjoys reading, camping, and spending time with friends. Her favorite restaurant is the Red Iguana (whose isn’t?). Meredith's favorite local destination is the Uinta mountains because it is quick and close to some of her favorite camping sites.
Natalie Newsome, Director of Enrollment Communications
B.F.A. from Utah State University
Natalie grew up in Kaysville, Utah and did her undergraduate work in Graphic Design at Utah State University. She did her graduate work at Gonzaga University in Organizational Leadership. She is happy to be working in higher education because she loves the energy of a campus full of students. She also loves being able to help students make one of the most important educational decisions of their lives. Natalie loves the Westminster community. The close relationships that develop from a small campus generate big opportunities. Her favorite place on campus is the second floor of the library. Outside of work she loves to hang-out with her husband, Brad and create art. Her favorite mediums are watercolor and acrylic. She thinks the best restaurant in SLC is Red Iguana and her favorite Utah destination is Zion National Park.
Quincey Malauulu Otuafi, First Year Admissions Counselor
B.S. in International Relations at the University of Utah
Quincey is from Oceanside (San Diego), California. After doing two years at Palomar College in San Marcos, California, she moved to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah as a transfer student and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in International Relations with an emphasis in Language and Culture. She is passionate about higher education and loves working in admissions because of the relationships she is able to build with students to make the transition from High School to College as smooth as possible. Her favorite place on campus is Richer Commons because the surrounding trees create a peaceful ambiance and there's almost always something fun going down in the Commonrs to get involved with. When Quincey isn't working, you can probably catch her at local rugby events or hanging out with friends. Some of her favorite local restaurants are Sawadi and Oh Mai.
Rob A. Myers, First Year Admissions Counselor
B.A. University of South Florida
Rob Myers is originally from Miami, Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Public & Cultural Communication. He enjoys working in higher education and playing an integral role in getting new students enrolled and acclimated with Westminster College. His favorite spot on campus is the Jewett Center for the Performing Arts. In his spare time he travels cross country setting new dance works on studios and performance teams. He had the opportunity to be a featured dancer at Super Bowl XXXIII's pre-game and halftime festivities. Rob is still fairly new to Salt Lake, his favorite places to eat so far, arEmail: Sapa and Mazza.
Stacie Whitford, Aviation Admissions Counselor
B.S., Westminster College, Aviation Management
Stacie was raised in an airline family and has spent her life in California, Nevada, Minnesota, and Utah. She used her Westminster degree as the Inflight Manager for California and Arizona for a regional airline. When she and her husband were deciding where to raise their family, they chose Utah to be close to family and the mountains that they love. Stacie has had strong ties to Westminster since her graduation. She has served on the alumni board and has been greatly involved with many different projects on campus. When the opportunity arose for her to help students interested in attending Westminster College, she jumped at the chance. She hopes to instill the love of the College and in the Aviation Department that she has had since the day she stepped foot on campus. Stacie and her family love to ski, hike and travel…and they all LOVE Westminster!
Wes Yarborough, First Year Admissions Counselor
B.A., University of Denver
Wes is originally from Reno, NV and is excited to set up some roots in Salt Lake City. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Denver in International Studies with emphasis on Developmental Theory. He is excited to help students fulfill their goals of achieving higher education and going on to whatever success awaits. In his free time, he likes to be outdoors doing just about anything. His favorite place in Salt Lake City is about 3,000 feet above it at Grandeur Peak, and he's looking forward to trying all the amazing food SLC has to offer.
