Josie Gay, '97
Josie is a business and marketing professional with experience in the development and execution of operational business strategies and marketing plans, consisting of brand positioning, cause marketing, digital marketing and social media. Her consulting roles have touched multiple sectors including private corporations, social enterprises, government and nonprofits.
Her work ranges from co-founding a tech firm, rebranding and redirecting operations for private businesses, and producing large scale events for non-profits including Sundance Institute. But her passion lies in working on projects with purpose. Just recently she co-founded a social enterprise called "What's Up Doc Films" - a social cause documentary series which raises money for a variety of charities. She is also producing her first documentary about a rehabilitation program at San Quentin State Prison. She is a published author, volunteer, philanthropist, changemaker, and social entrepreneur.
She received 'Young Entrepreneur of the Year' from the United States Small Business Administration, was a runner up for the Ernst & Young 'Entrepreneur of the Year', has guest lectured at universities and conferences, and received her M.A. from Pepperdine University in Social Entrepreneurship and Change.
