  • About Carolyn Connell

Dr. Carolyn Connell joined the math faculty at Westminster in 1983 and has seen many changes at Westminster, including the increase in the math department from two to six. She was chair of the math department from 1993 to 2004. In 2004, she became the Associate Dean in Arts & Sciences, but still teaches ½ time.

Carolyn has been active in the Mathematical Association of America, both nationally and locally. Of primary interest to her has been organizing programs to encourage young women to pursue careers in math & science. Most recently, she has directed summer camps in 2005 and 2006 for entering 8th grade girls: the AWE+SUM camps (Attend Westminster, Explore Science, Use Math).

Carolyn first came to Utah for graduate school at the University of Utah, but also to enjoy the excellent skiing. She continues to ski, hike & bike as often as possible.
