  • About Gail Avendano, M.Ed.

I joined the aviation program when we began offering flight training in 2000.

In my current role, I work closely with aviation students at all levels--from the time they are admitted to the college to the time they graduate, and beyond. Whether students need guidance or support in navigating through college, applying for scholarships, finding internships, reworking their resumes, participating in clubs and organizations, or being involved in professional development activities, I'm here to help.

I also work closely with the rest of the aviation management team in the areas of aviation accreditation, program development, building connections with the larger aviation community, and promoting and supporting college-wide initiatives.

    Courses taught:

    • ENGL 110 (Write Flyers learning community)
    • ACCT 440, AVFL 440, AVIA 440, ECON 440, FINC 440, MGMT 440, MKTG 440 (the Business & CFI Internship classes)
    • AVIA 402 (Aviation Capstone class)

    Additional Interests

In my free time, I enjoy running and spending time with my family--which includes my husband, who is a SkyWest pilot, three busy kids (2 are Westminster students), and two energetic dogs. I have a bucket-list goal to run a half marathon in all fifty states.
