  • About Steve Haslam

I was first exposed to French at West High School in Salt Lake City and I continued my French studies at the University of Utah, Duke University, and in France. Upon completion of my studies, I began teaching at Westminster in 1984.

In addition to teaching various French courses and taking May Term trips to Europe, with primary focus on France, (and have done so since 1990), I'm an avid volleyball and softball player—keeping mind and body active is important to me.

Prior to my teaching career, I worked on a ranch in Wyoming in my youth; as a graduate student at Duke, I painted houses; I was a journeyman in the grocery business; and I have had a real estate license since 1979.

Westminster offers a French minor which includes mostly first, second, and third year courses.

May Term Study Experiences (MTSE) are usually offered every other year (additional information about Westminster May Term trips can be found on the college website).
