Westminster's Art Program

Why Study Art at Westminster?

Westminster’s Art program provides students with many avenues for artistic exploration, expanding of imagination, and expressing of ideas creatively. The program is designed to give students the skills and confidence in their abilities needed to produce works of art. To this end, students are given general knowledge about art and art history and are schooled in a variety of techniques, including drawing, painting, photography, and pottery. Students are encouraged to use and expand their imagination and to express their ideas creatively.

The program provides courses for students wishing to concentrate in teaching and performance, for students with a vocational interest in performing and studio arts, and for students who plan to pursue graduate studies in art. Students can go on to teach art in the school system, pursue a career as a professional artist, mix art with other disciplines, or simply develop your artistic talents.
