Introduction to Canvas

Thursday September 12th, 1:00 PM in the FTC | RSVP

In this workshop we will cover the basics of what you need to know to get your Canvas course setup. By the end of the workshop you will have added a syllabus, uploaded documents, created assignments, publish a course and message students. We will also discuss adding students to classes and setting notification preferences.

Become a Grading Guru

Grading in Canvas can save faculty time and help students check the progress of their grades throughout the semester. This workshop will step through the process of creating assignments, weighted grading categories, setting up the gradebook, entering grades into the gradebook, and using the speedgrader to give students feedback.

This workshop is intended for those who have already begun using Canvas. We will be discussing and demonstrating some of the typical challenges faculty face when using Canvas. For example, we will discuss using the attendance tool, peer reviews, crocodoc and more.

Course Evaluations with Evaluation Kit

Beginning in the Fall of 2013 a new course evaluation tool (Evaluation Kit) will be implemented. This workshop will demonstrate how faculty can add custom questions to their evaluations.

Recording Presentations with Panopto


There are 15 classrooms on campus equiped with recording equipment. However, any computer with a webcam and microphone can be used to record presentations. This workshop will step you through the process of adding Panopto to your Canvas account so you can create and share these presentations with your students.
