People often list "inspirational" as a desirable quality for a leader. What role does inspiration play in a successful organization? All companies or endeavors began as an idea about something in the future. Inspirational leaders first envision the future and by "imagining the possibilities and finding common purpose" (Kouzes and Posner, 2007). They create not just a shared vision, but an inspiring vision that engages and motivates others to follow them toward that common future.

UPCOMING EVENT

THE POWER OF ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT FOR EXECUTIVE DECISION MAKERS

Westminster College Executive Education , in partnership with ERM Strategies, presents The Power of Enterprise Risk Management for Executive Decision Makers, featuring Kristina Narvaez.

This is a special one-day workshop addressing the increasing interest in Enterprise Risk Management. Interspersed among the instruction, participants will work in teams to identify and prioritize risks and explore risk-mitigating strategies. The cases allow immediate practice with the tools and techniques covered in the workshop.

Take-aways:

  1. Use and apply tools to identify risks both within and outside your organization.
  2. Assess the financial impact of specific risks to your organization.
  3. Analyze the internal and external threats and opportunities to your organization and discover their root causes.
  4. Create risk reports for various stakeholders in your organization.
  5. Measure the effectiveness of your organization's risk evaluation process.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP INSTRUCTOR
MEET KRISTINA



KRISTINA NARVAEZ, MBA

Kristina Narvaez graduated from the University of Utah in Environmental Risk Management and received her MBA from Westminster College. She started her career as a commercial insurance agent and then worked in the risk management departments of both UTA and Zion's Bancorporation. She is the owner of ERM Strategies, LLC.

She is a two time Spencer Education Graduate Scholar from the Risk and Insurance Management Society. She has authored the book Success Stories: Public Entities Adopt ERM Best Practices. She is working on her second book with John Fraser and Dr. Betty Simkins on Enterprise Risk Management Case Studies for Executives, Risk Practitioners, and Educators. Kristina has also authored 17 articles on topics of Enterprise Risk Management and Board Risk Governance in various risk management magazines and is a contributing author for CFO.com.
