Putting Materials on Reserve

For help putting materials on reserve call (801) 832-2250.

Students may access books, DVDs, and other physical materials at the Circulation Desk in the Giovale Library. All articles will be available online via our library catalog in .pdf format which can be printed or downloaded.

Checkout Duration

The length of time materials on Reserve circulate is at the discretion of the professor. Materials may circulate for 2 Hours, 4 Hours, 24 Hours, 2 Days, or 7 Days. Materials which are in very high demand due to class size, or item format, are often put on reserve as "Library Use Only".

Steps for Faculty to Put Materials on Reserve

  1. Download and complete a Reserve Request Form. (Forms are also available in the Library.)
  2. Send by email, campus mail, or bring the completed form and a copy of the material to the Circulation Desk as far in advance as possible.

Due to time and staff limitations, we cannot guarantee your reserve materials will be immediately available for students unless you have submitted your Reserve Requests well before the first day of classes.

Returning Materials

At the end of the semester, items on reserve will be automatically withdrawn and returned to the faculty member, unless faculty request a renewal of the reserve status.
