Two interns (one Democratic and one Republican) will work closely with the respective Utah state party chairs on political activities relating to the 2018 elections. These $3,500 internships with the Utah Republican and Democratic parties during the Fall 2018 semester will start approximately on August 22, 2018 and finish on December 1, 2018.
Interns may work up to 20 hours per week and are encouraged to pursue academic credit for the experience, if relevant. A final reflection paper will be due one week after the internship concludes.
Westminster students with junior or senior standing are eligible to apply. You must also be politically engaged, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
This internship program was created in memory of Randy Horiuchi by his many friends across the political spectrum to honor Randy’s love of politics, practice of bipartisanship, and fondness for bringing fellow citizens into the political process, as evidenced by his teaching at Westminster College and mentorship of many young people.
