Theatre Scholarships


Scholarship Details and Requirements

Incoming students entering the Theatre Arts program can audition/interview for a program-specific scholarship. Scholarships apply for up to 4 years. Students must meet the following criteria each year for continued eligibility:

  • Declared as a theatre major
  • 20 scholarship hours per year
  • Audition for all productions
  • Accept all production assignments
  • Attend all strikes
  • Attend all production meetings for shows you are assigned to as a creative team member (SM, ASM, designer, assistant designers) or any production meeting you are called to
  • 2.5 cumulative GPA and classroom participation
  • Punctual to and prepared for all rehearsals, fittings, and other calls
  • Professionalism and collegiality
  • Consistent class attendance
  • Adhere to all policies in the Theatre Arts program student handbook

Auditions and Interviews

An audition or interview is required to be considered for a scholarship. If needed, students may request a Skype audition or interview.

Students Interested in Performance

If you have a background in performance, are interested in focusing on performance electives for the bachelor of arts degree, or are planning to audition to transition into the performance emphasis of the bachelor of fine arts degree, come prepared for an audition with:
  • Resume and headshot
  • 2 contrasting monologues (45-second each, 1 classical and 1 of your choice)
  • Optional: a prepared song to perform

Students Interested in Behind the Scenes

If you have a background in offstage theatre work, are interested in focusing on production and design electives for the bachelor of arts degree, or are planning to interview to transition into the production and design emphasis of the bachelor of fine arts degree, come prepared for an interview with:

  • Resume
  • A digital (pdf, presentation, etc.), online, or print portfolio (a computer and screen will be available during the interview)

  • February 27, 2021 (acting only)
