M.Ed. FAQ

  1. Must I take the GRE to be accepted?
    The GRE is not required for admission to the Master of Education program.
  2. What is the accreditation of Westminster's education program?
    The Teacher Education Programs at Westminster College are accredited by the Utah State Board of Education and Westminster College is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
  3. Can I get licensure by completing the program?
    Though the M.Ed. program does not lead to teacher licensure, already licensed students may gain a Basic Reading Endorsement, a Distance Learning Endorsement, an English as a Second Language Endorsement, or a Special Education Endorsement. Course work for both endorsements counts toward a M.Ed. Additionally, students seeking licensure may apply for the Master of Arts in Teaching Program.
  4. How long is the program?
    A minimum of 32 credit hours is required for graduation. A maximum of nine credit hours of graduate-level transcripted credit may be accepted from another accredited college or university.
  5. How much is tuition?
    2012-2013 M.Ed. tuition is $645 per credit hour.
