This part-time employee will drive the shuttle to and from campus, fuel planes,wash and detail aircraft, clear snow and ice from aircraft and hangars, and keep supplies stocked. This job requires some lifting of 50 lbs or less and early morning availability M-F (5-9 AM) and/or mid-day availability M-F (12-2). This position is off campus at Salt Lake International Airport.Training will be provided and all employees must obtain an airport badge which requires the passing of a background check.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Other duties may be assigned. • Pulling aircraft out for fueling. • Wash and detail aircraft. • Clear ice and snow from aircraft during inclement weather. • Clear ice and snow from hangar areas during inclement weather. • Maintain aircraft supplies at the hangars. • Update white board with accurate information. • Comply with the Westminster College Flight Operations Safety and Operations manual. • Assist students and instructors at the aircraft.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be 21 years of age and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Interest in aviation and experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Prefer at least one year’s experience in a collegiate flight training program as an employee or student.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively
present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
