Journalist and Photographer Present "The Baghdad Project: The Faces and Voices of Iraq"
Salt Lake City-March 18, 2004-Hear what Iraqi people are thinking now as journalist Zelie Pollon and photographer Laurent Guerin present "The Baghdad Project"--a slideshow and presentation featuring dramatic portraits of Iraqi people and their testimonials as read by local actors--on Monday, April 12, at 7:00 p.m. Pollon and Guerin recently spent two months in Iraq where they interviewed Iraqi citizens on their views of the war, the American occupation and their dreams for the future. The presentation will be followed by an open discussion of the current situation in Iraq.
Pollon is a freelance journalist who writes for Reuters, the Dallas Morning News and People Magazine. She is a former founding board member of the Independent Press Association. This was her first experience working in a war zone. Guerin is a freelance photographer and served as a French Paratrooper for eight years in Africa and the Middle East. He has spent three years documenting the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and recently returned from The Conference of World Affairs.
The presentation will take place in the Gore School of Business Auditorium and is open to the public at no charge. Free parking is available at 1700 South and 1200 East.
