Born in Santa Monica, California but raised in Salt Lake City, Monica is an English major and Art minor with a passion for teaching. While wrapping up her undergraduate work, Monica is also concurrently enrolled in Westminster’s Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) graduate program.
A former art editor for Ellipsis, Westminster’s literary and art magazine, Monica plans to teach high school English Literature after receiving her graduate degree.
A recipient of several academic scholarships and a frequent on the Dean’s List, Monica lists submitting her senior thesis on the relationship between Postcolonialism and Magical Realism within Latin American texts to Professor Chris LeCluyse as perhaps her biggest academic achievement while at Westminster.
“Over the past four years, Westminster has provided me with the resources and opportunities to grow not only academically, but also as an individual. I have been lucky enough to have several professors who helped me recognize personal strengths and present me with opportunities where I can make a difference. I'm proud to have received my Bachelor's degree here, and I'm looking forward to completing my Master’s at Westminster as well.”
