Griffin Lacrosse Camps & Clinics Overview

In 2013, Griffin Lacrosse Camps enter its eigth season of fun instructional camps. More than 1,500 lax enthusiasts have benefited from passed Griffin Camps and Clinics. Again in 2013, we'll offer indepth clinic training sessions for specific skills focus on shooting, goaltending and face-off skills. In addition, we will also be taking advantage of two fantastic local lacrosse tournaments which will combine the camp experience with a fun summer tournament.
The Griffin Junior Day Camp will run from Monday morning (June 10, 2013), thru Wednesday afternoon, (June 12, 2013). On Thursday afternoon players from our camp will participate in the ninth annual Park City Ski Town Shootout lacrosse festival, (June 13-15, 2013). Playing and training with their new found camp friends, our Junior Griffins will also participate in at least five fun games in beautiful Park City, Utah. They'll get to compete against teams from other teams from regional rivals like Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, California & Idaho. We'll be forming teams to compete in two age brackets, (U-13 & U-15). For more information on this fun tournament event please visit the ULA website.
The College Prep Camp is geared for the rising 9th thru 12th graders who hope to play the game in college. We gear our instruction to teach the skills, tactics and training regimins that will help our campers reach their highest potential in the sport. We also educate them on the college recruiting, application and financial aide process. They'll learn first hand what it takes to make the jump to college ball and we'll expand their horizons on all the college programs which are available to them when leaving the high school ranks. For 2013, we have combined the College Prep Camp with the Rocky Mountain Showcase, a recruiting tournament which will have at least twelve college representatives in attendance. Not only will players learn skills and training practices to help them prepare for the jump to college lacrosse, but they'll also get to compete for the attention of recruiters during the course of the Rocky Mountain Showcase. In 2012, the tournament was attended by NCAA representatives from Adams State College, Colorado Mesa University, Chestnut Hill College and Southern Virginia University as well as MCLA representatives from Utah Valley University and Westminster College.

STAFF / DIRECTORS
All Camps and Clinics are under the direction of Asst. Coach Garrett McLean and the Westminster Lacrosse staff. All campers receive instruction on core skills of the game as well as advanced tactics and strategies they can expect in their future. The teaching progression from skill introduction and un-pressured practice to competitive drilling and full speed scrimmage situations cements the new skills in each camper with great success.
