Nursing Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Get Into the School of Nursing and Health Sciences?

Upon Acceptance to Westminster

  • School of Nursing Application Packets will be available in April
  • There’s still time to apply to the undergraduate nursing program and start in January 2015!
    If you complete your application by November 1, 2014, you will receive priority screening and receive an admission decision by the third week end of November. The final application deadline is December 1, 2014.
  • Classes begin in January

How Long is your Waiting List?

  • There is no waiting list. Students who are not accepted may apply the next year.

How Many Students Can You Accept?

  • 90 students annually

What do you look for in an applicant?

  • Strong cumulative GPA from all schools attended (minimum GPA of 2.80)
  • Strong GPA in prerequisites (minimum GPA of 2.80)
  • Compelling, well-written personal statement
  • Strong references
  • No documented criminal history
  • Negative drug screen results from an approved laboratory
