Drawing parallels among those who ventured west.  Over arching study of various womens experiences as western settlers between 1850 and the end of the century.  Various subjects include a madame/prostitute, Apache/Mohave captive, soldier impersonator/cross dresser female, woman outlaw and a Montana teacher.
